Protecode Incorporated is a code attributes management company, established in 2006,  headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with R&D and data operations focused in Canada. Protecode offers its products and services throughout the world through a network of partners in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

What We Do

Protecode provides open source scanning and Code Attributes Management products and services to organizations that create, or consume, software.  Protecode solutions detect and manage open source and other third party content in a code portfolio throughout a development life cycle.

Protecode solutions facilitate the managed adoption of open source software, accelerating development velocity, reducing development costs, improving software quality, identifying security vulnerabilities, and removing Intellectual Property uncertainties. Protecode products help organizations implement a structured open source software adoption process.

Protecode on-premises System 4^TM product and ProtecodeCloud hosted solutions have been adopted by hundreds of software organizations in worldwide in industries as diverse as gaming, mobile apps, financial, embedded software, semiconductors, communications, avionics, military, ISV’s and eHealth. Due to its highly scalable architecture and business model, Protecode products have been adopted by global tier 1 companies with over 100,000 employees, and by organizations with as few as ten people.

Protecode System4^TM is a full suite of products that provides open source license management at all stages of development.  

ProtecodeCloud is a fully hosted solution providing Open Source scanning and  license management in a hosted environment. ProtecodeCloud is available on a number of platforms including IBM SmartCloud, RackSpace, Amazon, and Microsoft Azure.

Protecode services include

• Software Code Audits for one-time assessment of any code portfolio, and
• Portfolio Comparison Services for detecting similarity between two code portfolios.
